Company of Rogues is hosting this 8 week course at Vancouver's Studio 538

This intensive 8 week class focuses on creating a potent performance. Many of today’s films prove that a masterful performance is founded on human, truthful and active ‘behavior’. This class delves into the heart of you the actor through learning the art of Private Emotional Preparation, the connection between Subtext, Inner Dialogue, Conflict and Living in the Impulses. Through exploring the text you will activate the triggers to a fully realized character by understanding the relationship between character, text, living truthfully under the imaginary circumstances and your own human needs.

Each class begins with Sanford Meisner’s seminal Word Repetition Exercise through which you will experience how the art of Listening feeds the text into a spontaneous life. If you are looking to think less, trust more, and create work that does a character justice, then this is your class.

Committed Students Only Please:

• Due to the nature of this work students must be able to commit for the 8 consecutive weeks. It is essential that the class is built on a consistent, cohesive dynamic.
• More than 2 classes missed will result in forfeiting the class with no re-imbursement.
